POINT LOOKOUT
Point Lookout (Mulumba) located on the North-East coast of North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), offers a friendly, coastal atmosphere with lots to see and do.
Spend your days immersed in the spectacular landscape, with endless kilometres of surf beaches, unique Australian wildlife, and towering rocky headlands to explore. Experience some of the most breathtaking beaches; take a dip at Brown Lake (Bummiera), a tranquil freshwater lake; explore the vast network of trails located in the Naree Budjong Djara National Park with summits offering 360-degree views of the island and surrounds; or catch some of the biggest surfing waves at one of the patrolled beaches. Go four-wheel driving, take a Quandamooka guided tour or scuba dive with giant Manta Rays in crystal clear waters.
The iconic Gorge Walk is a must-do experience while visiting Minjerribah. This 1.2-kilometre boardwalk follows the rocky headlands of Point Lookout and is one of south-east Queensland’s most spectacular coastal walks which offers incomparable view of endless blue ocean teeming with marine life. Between June and November each year, the Gorge Walk is the ideal vantage point for land-based whale watching, where thousands of humpback whales can be spotted travelling the seas during their migration.
Tantalise the tastebuds at one of the many cafes and restaurants in Point Lookout, where guests can indulge in fresh island menus, creamy homemade gelati and picturesque waterfronts. A variety of accommodation options are available at Point Lookout, from beachside camping, backpackers, luxury units, holiday homes and ocean front hotels.
