Paula Boo Studios
Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island
Paula Boo, a Minjerribah/Tjerrangerri/Terrangee Island songbird, weaves her acoustic soul through both her music and her art. Drawing on her French Canadian, Lebanese, and Norwegian ancestry, she shares stories that form a universal and uplifting voice—one that connects with loved ones, the ocean, and the land in a joyful celebration of life.
As a fibre artist, Paula works with a rich mix of traditional and contemporary techniques. She primarily uses sustainably harvested natural fibres, beach treasures, assorted weeds, and other found materials. Her current explorations blend natural fibres with metalwork, ceramics, botanical printing, and cyanotype, expanding the creative possibilities of her practice.
Paula continues to learn weaving and basketry from both traditional and modern practitioners, whom she honours as powerful teachers and carriers of ancient art forms. She is committed to sharing her knowledge while embracing new techniques that support fresh, contemporary expressions of weaving as a vibrant and evolving art.
Paula Boo Studios offers a space to enjoy, appreciate, and purchase local art, as well as participate in creative workshops. Visitors are welcome on Open Studio Days or by appointment.
