Museum

The Island has a unique mix of Aboriginal, European, marine and World War Two history. The museum tells these stories and offers an ancestry research service as well as guided tours and township walking trail maps. It also houses the nationally significant Oodgeroo Collection from one of Australia’s major poets, the late Oodgeroo of the tribe Noonuccal (also known as Kath Walker), who called the island home.
