The island has infrastructure such as hourly ferry transport to the mainland, sealed roads, bus transport, fuel stations.
There are supermarkets, specialty food retailers, restaurants and cafes.
Reliable mobile coverage is limited to Telstra and broadband is ADSL. The island has essential services such as post offices, ambulance centres, doctors, pharmacies, 24 hour emergency medical assistance and police.
